'Para Lá da Travessa' Anthology Presented in Funchal

The work, coordinated by Cláudia Faria, brings together ten short stories about Porto Santo, exploring the island beyond its tourism.

The short story anthology 'Para Lá da Travessa', coordinated by Cláudia Faria and published by Letras Lavadas, was presented at the Hotel Barceló Funchal Oldtown. The event was attended by a full house in a welcoming atmosphere.

The work features ten stories by authors connected to Madeira and Porto Santo, portraying the island through narratives that blend fiction, reality, and memory. Cláudia Faria explained that the book aims to showcase Porto Santo beyond its tourist appeal, offering diverse literary perspectives.

One of the stories, by the coordinator herself, was inspired by a real childhood event involving a firecracker explosion on the island after April 25th. The session celebrated literature and Porto Santo's identity, with strong public attendance.
