Paul do Mar chromatic intervention costs nearly €400,000 more than initially announced

The chromatic intervention and landscape rehabilitation project in Paul do Mar, aimed at renovating house facades in the historic center, has a final cost of €935,955.80, including VAT. This figure is nearly €400,000 higher than the initial estimate of around half a million euros presented in 2023.

The project, launched in February 2023, includes not only a color study but also the painting and exterior landscaping of approximately two hundred houses. The contract was awarded for €899,957.50 (excluding VAT) to the company Traços Históricos – Unipessoal, Lda., with a 365-day execution period.

The original program contract anticipated a maximum regional contribution of approximately €421,000. An amendment in December 2024 increased this to €665,000, but the final tender price significantly exceeded projections. The Regional Government is expected to maintain its commitment to cover 95% of the work's cost, excluding VAT.
