Paul do Mar chromatic intervention exceeds initial value by 400,000 euros

The chromatic intervention and facade renovation project in the historic center of Paul do Mar, initiated in 2023, has seen its final cost soar to 899,957.50 euros (excluding VAT). This figure represents an increase of almost 400,000 euros compared to the initial estimate of around half a million euros.

The contract, awarded to the company Traços Históricos – Unipessoal, Lda., has an execution period of 365 days. Initially, the project aimed to create a color study and apply this renovation to approximately two hundred houses, with the goal of enhancing the parish's tourist appeal.

The process experienced delays and an increase in public funding. An amendment to the program contract in December 2024 had already raised the maximum regional contribution to 665,000 euros. The final contracted price, excluding VAT, ended up being about 80% higher than the 2023 projection.
