Paula Margarido, Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labour and Youth, argued that the true value of social intervention cannot be measured solely by numbers, but rather by the concrete changes in people's lives.
"It's not enough to do. It's important to know what difference we can make," stated Margarido at the opening of the 5th Mais Social Congress, organized by Casa de São José. She emphasized that the social economy and impact economy should complement each other, and that social impact assessment should identify opportunities for improvement.
Margarido also highlighted the importance of social sector professionals, advocating for their recognition and respect for their autonomy. Casa de São José was cited as an example of innovation. The secretary concluded that economic and social progress go hand in hand and pledged the Regional Government's continued partnership with institutions.
