The Polícia Judiciária (PJ) was alerted on the morning of September 29th to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 37-year-old French tourist, found dead aboard a sailboat off the coast of Porto Santo.
The alert was raised by a family member who was unable to contact the man. The Maritime Police were activated and, upon reaching the anchored vessel, confirmed the victim showed no vital signs. The sailboat was towed to Porto Santo Marina, where a verification report was carried out by the Health Delegate.
The PJ has taken charge of the investigation into the incident.
