Ponta do Pargo Golf Course Expected to Conclude This Year

The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, highlighted current and planned public investments for the parish of Ponta do Pargo, in the municipality of Calheta.

During the Parish Day celebrations, Maciel described the future Ponta do Pargo Golf Course as a strategic project for the region, with an anticipated investment of 16.4 million euros. The work is expected to be finished this year, with a commitment to proceed with the associated real estate component.

The official emphasized that the golf course will be crucial for the parish's future success, attracting investment, creating jobs, and contributing to the decentralization of tourism activity, focusing on environmental sustainability and its location on the western cliffs of the island.

Other projects mentioned included the construction of the Ponta do Pargo lagoon, still in the project phase, and the completion in 2022 of the second phase of the expressway between Fajã da Ovelha and Ponta do Pargo.
