Pope Leo XIV will be admitted this Tuesday, October 13th, to undergo surgery for the removal of a lung nodule.
The confirmation was made by Matteo Bruni, director of the Holy See Press Office. The pontiff is expected to remain at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome for one week.
The date of admission, October 13th, holds significance for Catholics, marking the 109th anniversary of the last apparition of Our Lady of Fatima and the "Miracle of the Sun" in Portugal.
