Founded in 1989 in Funchal, Porta 33 – Quebra Costas Contemporary Art Centre Association promotes contemporary art in Madeira through exhibitions, publications, workshops, and other cultural activities. The association has played an active role in valuing regional architecture and its professionals.
The award ceremony took place at the national headquarters of the Order of Architects in Lisbon. The distinction was received on behalf of the association, which was organizing events in Porto Santo.
