The traditional Grape and Farmer Festival, held annually in Porto da Cruz, has been cancelled for this year. The decision was announced by the local Casa do Povo via social media.
According to the institution's management, the "lack of funding and public support" made it impossible to hold the event "with the usual dignity and scale". The Casa do Povo thanked the local farmers and producers, who are considered "the reason for this festival", and expressed hope to gather the necessary conditions to resume the initiative in the future, asking for the community's understanding.
