Porto Moniz Mayor Demands Urgent Solutions for Expressway and Fair Rent for Zootechnical Station

Olavo Câmara, the Mayor of Porto Moniz, used the solemn session of the Council's Day to present demands to the Regional Government.

The main concerns raised were the safety of the expressway, which requires an "urgent and definitive solution" due to multiple dangerous spots, and the need for fair compensation for the use of the Zootechnical Station by the Regional Government. The municipality currently receives around 150 euros annually, while experts estimate the value at eight thousand euros per month.

Câmara also requested clarity on access to European funds and program contracts, essential for financing municipal investments. He also announced ongoing projects, such as basic sanitation and the requalification of roads and public spaces, in addition to a package of tax incentives to promote investment in the municipality.
