A reported power outage at the Madeira International Airport control tower late last night led to flight disruptions.
Several planes were grounded, waiting for further instructions before taking off. Passengers on a TAP flight were reportedly waiting inside their aircraft for updates.
Information gathered by Jornal da Madeira indicates that the Lisbon Airport control tower was also affected by the power failure.
