The People's Monarchist Party (PPM) has once again distanced itself from the AD's governance, stating that the current political project of PSD and CDS "is not ideal for Portugal and for the Portuguese people".
In a statement, the party points to the rising cost of living against low wages, difficulties in accessing housing, and problems in public health and education services as examples of policies that, it argues, are forcing families to "tighten their belts". The PPM also accuses the Government of favoring large economic and financial groups.
The party also criticizes the cost allowances granted to Members of Parliament, advocating for the repeal of the relevant system. The statement concludes by contrasting the republic and monarchy, suggesting that the Portuguese should reflect on their respective models and the cost of living.
