The People's Monarchist Party (PPM) of Madeira has reiterated its support for the creation of a regular ferry link between mainland Portugal and the Region.
The party believes this maritime solution is crucial for ensuring territorial continuity and combating tourism seasonality by attracting visitors during the low season.
The PPM recalls historical precedents for passenger connections between the mainland and the islands and cites the Naviera Armas operation between the Canaries, Madeira, and Portimão as proof of viability. The regional branch rejects the idea of a new study on the matter, advocating for the resumption of a service similar to Naviera Armas, but with an additional stop in Porto Santo.
