Chega-Madeira Youth has accused the Regional Government of lacking a "serious strategy" to address the island's housing crisis.
The party structure believes that high housing prices disproportionately affect young people and young couples in Madeira. They criticize what they describe as the executive's focus on luxury real estate models aimed at the external market, neglecting affordable housing.
Coordinators for Chega-Madeira Youth state that many young workers, despite earning salaries, cannot afford to leave their parents' homes, leading to delayed family formation and emigration. They advocate for more affordable housing and policies that facilitate youth emancipation.
