The first phase of renovation and improvement works at Praia das Palmeiras in Santa Cruz was presented on Friday, June 19. This intervention represented an investment of 473,000 euros.
The Santa Cruz municipality highlighted changes to the swimming pool, including adjusted depth, new lighting, a pumping and cleaning system, and an accessibility ramp for reduced mobility individuals. The pool also features a new painting with artistic intervention. The phase also included pavement improvements and the creation of new changing rooms and showers.
This project is part of an integrated plan to rehabilitate Santa Cruz's seafront, which includes the regeneration of degraded jetties. Additionally, the supervised beach area was reinforced with a new lifeguard post at Praia de São Fernando, involving an investment of 90,000 euros.
