The President of the Santa Maria Maior Parish Council, Celso Mendes, attended the inauguration of the renovated primary school building at Colégio dos Salesianos this week.
The renovation project, which took place between mid-June and the start of the current academic year, involved 12 classrooms and included a complete renewal of spaces and equipment.
The ceremony was also attended by other officials, including the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, the Regional Secretary for Education, Science and Technology, Elsa Fernandes, and the Mayor of Funchal, Jorge Carvalho.
