Proinfância offers free educational support to young people in Funchal

Now in its third school year, the project provides free support to children and young people up to 18 across five Funchal parishes.

The Proinfância project, funded by the La Caixa Foundation and coordinated in Madeira by ASA – Association for the Development of Santo António, was highlighted at an information session held in Funchal.

Now in its third school year, the initiative is aimed at children and young people up to the age of 18. It offers individual and group support in psychology, therapies, curricular assistance and free-time activities at no cost to families. ASA currently runs the project in five Funchal parishes and aims to reach more families.

The session featured Carlos Faria, the project's scientific advisor, Carla Xavier, national coordinator, and ASA technicians, along with representatives of bodies including SESARAM, the Funchal City Council, the Madeira Social Security Institute, the CPCJ and local schools.
