PS Insists on Creating Municipal Police in Funchal to Address Traffic and Security Issues

Rui Caetano, a councilor for the Socialist Party (PS) on the Funchal Municipal Council, reiterated the need to create a municipal police force in the city.

According to Caetano, "creating bus lanes and placing bollards will not solve the mobility problem." He emphasized that such initiatives would only be effective if integrated into a global plan.

The councilor criticized the lack of concrete measures for parking and managing the flow of rental cars. "What needs to be done, and what the council cannot continue to postpone, is the creation of a municipal police force to help resolve traffic and security issues," he concluded.
