Socialist Party deputies have presented a vote of commendation in the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira for Madeiran skater Madalena Costa. The athlete secured the senior European Free Artistic Skating Championship title for the second consecutive year at the European Championships held in Ponte di Legno, Italy.
Madalena Costa, representing Sporting Club Santacruzense and the National Team, achieved a total score of 256.16 points, setting a new personal best and surpassing her previous 2025 European title by 5.05 points. This marks her fifth consecutive European title across different age categories, and she is also the current senior World Champion.
Paulo Cafôfo, president of the PS Parliamentary Group, highlighted the athlete's talent, discipline, and work ethic, stating that Madeira has "every reason to be deeply proud." The motion also acknowledges the crucial support of her family, Sporting Club Santacruzense, and the technical team, viewing Madalena Costa's journey as an inspiration for young Madeirans.
