PSD deputy Bruno Macedo has expressed skepticism regarding a proposal by the PS on the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI).
Macedo agrees with the need for AI control but argues that the Socialist proposal adds unnecessary "layers" to an existing regulatory framework. He cited regional and national strategies, as well as the European regulation coming into effect in 2027, as examples of measures already in place.
According to the deputy, the PS proposal is comparable to "asking for a bridge when the bridge is already built," suggesting it imposes additional bureaucracy without real benefits, potentially harming businesses in a globalized economic context.
