The Regional Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) in Madeira reported that between July 3 and 9, 2026, 86 road accidents occurred in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The municipality of Funchal recorded the highest number of accidents with 28, followed by Santa Cruz with 24. In total, the accidents resulted in 24 minor injuries and one serious injury, with no fatalities. The majority of accidents were collisions (59), followed by skids (20).
During the same period, the PSP conducted enforcement operations that led to the arrest of 16 individuals for traffic offenses, including driving under the influence of alcohol (8 arrests) and driving without a legal license (3 arrests).
