The emblematic Quinta da Piedade, located in the parish of Jardim do Mar, Calheta municipality, will be transformed into a cultural center. The political decision was announced by Miguel Albuquerque, President of the Regional Government.
Albuquerque assured that the impasses that had been dragging on for several years have been overcome and that the process will begin during the current term. The intervention includes the recovery of both the 16th-century manor house and its adjacent chapel, which are currently in an advanced state of abandonment and degradation.
