Medical and nursing professionals forming the Rali da Madeira's safety device participated in a training session this Saturday at the Funchal Volunteer Firefighters facilities. The aim was to prepare for the 2026 edition of the rally, focusing on emergency procedures in case of accidents.
The training combined theoretical and practical elements to review and refine rescue techniques and improve coordination among professionals. It covered the specific characteristics of competition vehicles and procedures for approaching, stabilizing, and extracting occupants.
The medical team will comprise 16 doctors and 16 nurses strategically positioned. A new addition for 2026 is a psychologist for trauma support. The organizing committee views this training as crucial for the safety and qualification of the response teams.
