This objective was discussed during a meeting between the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, and the US Ambassador, John J. Arrigo, at Quinta Vigia.
The meeting served to deepen economic relations between Madeira and the United States, with a particular emphasis on tourism and science. The US Ambassador highlighted the importance of attracting more Americans to the island, describing Madeira as an "extraordinary" destination.
The possibility of a connection to Miami is being considered, partly due to the significant Madeiran community residing in Florida, which could boost air traffic and cultural and economic exchange.
