The Regional Government, the Municipal Chamber of Câmara de Lobos, and the Parish Councils of Curral das Freiras and Santo António conducted a working visit to Regional Road 107, the main access route to Curral das Freiras.
During the visit, officials observed ongoing risk mitigation interventions aimed at enhancing road safety and protecting homes and residents. These measures include strategic tree felling, vegetation clearing, and the consolidation of firebreaks along approximately three kilometers.
The operation, coordinated by the Regional Directorate of Roads, involves the Regional Command Structure for Relief Operations (CROS) and the Volunteer Firefighters of Câmara de Lobos. The goal is to create barriers against fire spread and improve access for emergency teams, stemming from collaboration between various government departments and local authorities.
