The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology, along with SINTAP Madeira and STFP-RAM, has signed a memorandum of understanding concerning the career of Child Support Technicians. This agreement follows demands from these professionals for the enhancement of their careers, including updates to the pay scale and a review of their job descriptions.
Demands also included addressing issues related to career progression and point calculation within the SIADAP-RAM system. The signing of the memorandum comes shortly after SINTAP Madeira had called for a strike on July 20th and 21st, citing the government's failure to meet previous commitments.
The special career path for Child Support Technicians was established in 2021, acknowledging the specific nature of their work with children from daycare through to primary school. The PS Madeira party had also advocated for the Regional Government to fulfill its commitments to these professionals.
