The Regional Government of Madeira has approved a new extraordinary aid package, totaling 32 million euros, to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices on the region's families and businesses.
The measure, which will be retroactive to July 1st and remain in effect until December 31st, covers various sectors, including public transport, taxis, firefighters, the Portuguese Red Cross, SANAS, private social solidarity institutions (IPSS), and bakery businesses in Porto Santo.
Support includes per-liter fuel subsidies for public transport and taxis, compensation for emergency and solidarity vehicles, and a lump sum for IPSS. Additionally, Porto Santo bakeries will receive 90% compensation for maritime transport costs of raw materials, capped at 10,000 euros per beneficiary.
