The Madeira Regional Government has asked the Republic's government to take the Region's specific circumstances into account when defining minimum services for the easyJet cabin crew strike, scheduled for October 2-6 and December 19-23.
The Madeiran executive expressed concern about the potential impact of the stoppage on the continuity of air links between Madeira and the mainland, especially considering the October strike coincides with the October 5th holiday and the December strike is close to Christmas.
The Regional Government highlighted Madeira's island status and the lack of equivalent transport alternatives, requesting the safeguarding of air connections, including the Porto-Porto Santo route, and urging easyJet to minimize flight cancellations and ensure adequate passenger rebooking.
