The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, visited the cargo port of Caniçal to learn about a private investment of 14 million euros.
The investment, made by OPM, covered the acquisition of three new Liebher LHM 420 cranes, which arrived in the region in mid-September. These cranes can operate almost entirely on electric power, promising to make loading and unloading processes more efficient and faster, reducing waiting times and increasing handling capacity.
This upgrade complements the recent acquisition of four new horizontal handling equipment, representing an additional investment of 1.8 million euros.
