The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, has cancelled his participation in Sunday's program for the 41st Regional Folklore Festival – 24 Hours of Dancing. The decision was made in light of the national mourning declared for that day in tribute to the victims of earthquakes in Venezuela.
The festival, which includes the 36th Regional Municipalities Fair and is organized by the Casa do Povo de Santana with the support of the Regional Government of Madeira, will still see the Regional Secretary attend on Saturday. Nuno Maciel will be present at the event at 5:30 PM, where he will relaunch the Folklore Review and visit the fair's stands.
This year's edition of the Regional Municipalities Fair is themed "Traditional Toys of Madeira – Memories of Play," honouring the region's playful traditions.
