The start of the new school year on Monday brought increased car traffic in the vicinity of some of Funchal's most popular schools.
At Bartolomeu Perestrelo School, the start of classes proceeded without major issues, with traffic flowing without significant delays before 8 AM. A similar situation was observed on Rua do Comboio, near Levada School.
Traffic was heavier near Santa Teresinha College, where circulation on Rua Pedro José de Ornelas became quite slow during peak hours. At Horácio Bento de Gouveia (HBG) School, car traffic was also particularly intense, contributing to traffic congestion at the Cruz de Carvalho roundabout.
