The road connecting Boca da Encumeada to Paul da Serra remains impassable, with the section of the ER105 closed for over two years due to ongoing rockfalls.
The Regional Government cites a "high level of instability" and states that the route can only be reopened after specialized studies. Despite the warnings, some drivers continue to mistakenly head to the location, encountering "dead end" signs and stones on the road.
The danger is evident, with small stones and gravel noticeable on the road even near the entrance to the tunnel, which is closed to car traffic.
