Madeira has two municipalities listed among the 50 most sought-after locations for buying a house in Portugal, according to data from the second quarter of 2026 released by idealista.
Santana ranked 28th, with a median price of 312,445 euros, while Porto Moniz was in 50th place, recording a median price of 216,188 euros.
The study highlights a growing distribution of housing demand across the national territory, with a trend towards areas outside major metropolitan regions. Porto Moniz stands out for its median price below 300,000 euros, making it one of the more accessible options among the most sought-after municipalities. Santana slightly exceeds this threshold.
