Secretary of State Highlights Madeira as National Leader in Combating Unemployment

Madeira is standing out nationally for its labor market achievements, particularly its low unemployment rate. This assessment was made by Adriano Moreira, Secretary of State for Labour, during the official opening of the first Entrepreneurship Fair.

"Madeira is leading nationally," stated the official, highlighting that the region has the lowest unemployment rate in the country. Adriano Moreira believes the region's results deserve recognition and congratulated Regional Secretary Paula Margarido for her work in promoting entrepreneurship.

Beyond unemployment figures, Adriano Moreira emphasized the region's contribution to wage evolution, considering Madeira a strong reference point. Pedro Santos Gouveia, president of the Madeira Employment Institute, added that over the past decade, more than 690 companies and 1000 jobs have been created, with a survival rate for supported businesses exceeding 80%.
