SESARAM Enhances Clinical Training with First Neonatal Life Support Course

Madeira is hosting, for the first time, the Neonatal Life Support (NLS) Course. This training is designed to prepare doctors and nurses for emergency situations involving newborns, particularly during childbirth and the initial moments of life.

The initiative takes place from October 7th to 9th at the Madeira Clinical Simulation Centre, bringing together over a dozen health professionals and trainers from across the country. Promoted by the Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM), the course aims to strengthen professionals' skills in identifying risks and performing neonatal resuscitation maneuvers.

Participants undergo theoretical and practical training, including clinical simulations, to practice responding to emergencies, emphasizing speed, safety, and teamwork. The training is delivered by professionals certified by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and is co-financed by the European Union.
