The cruise ship Seven Seas Mariner arrived in Funchal on Friday morning for a nine-hour stop. On board were 1,077 people, including 623 passengers and 454 crew members.
The ship is on a 28-night voyage between Athens, Greece, and Miami, in the United States, and had sailed from Málaga, Spain. Earlier ports included Turkey, Malta, Italy, Monte Carlo and Spain. It is scheduled to leave Funchal at 17:00 for Bermuda, according to APRAM.
The same day, the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection ship, which had arrived from Lisbon with 131 passengers and 354 crew, was heading to Nassau in the Bahamas. On Saturday, Funchal will welcome the Arcadia, carrying 1,967 passengers and 825 crew, which will spend the night in port.
