Last Friday, the ship Rebecca S, operated by GS Lines (Grupo Sousa), collided upon entering Porto Santo harbor around 1 PM. The vessel, responsible for supplying the island and arriving from Caniçal, required the assistance of a tugboat and pilot to dock.
The incident, which caused minor damage to the ship's bow and chipping on the concrete wall, is believed to have been caused by the poor condition of the harbor's fenders, which have been awaiting replacement for some time. The Rebecca S departed Porto Santo at 6 PM, heading for Lisbon.
