The Sinergia – Energy Union met with the CDS-PP Parliamentary Group at the Legislative Assembly of Madeira. The meeting aimed to present the specificities of the regional electrical system and advocate for the recognition of EEM Group workers.
During the meeting, the union highlighted that the electrical systems of Madeira and Porto Santo operate in isolation, without interconnection between them or with external grids. The contribution of investments from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) to supply security and renewable energy integration was acknowledged, though the need for permanent response capacity was emphasized.
Water production management and the importance of the tariff convergence mechanism with the mainland were also discussed. Sinergia stressed the qualification of EEM Group professionals as a guarantee of continuity and quality in the public electricity service and expressed a desire for more regular dialogue with the company's administration, noting that the proposal for updating the collective labor regulation instrument for 2026 remains unanswered.
