Sporting Clube de Portugal and CD 1.º de Maio have announced a strategic partnership focused on the development of youth football in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The agreement aims to strengthen the Lisbon club's presence in the archipelago, enhancing the evolution of young players, coaches, and other areas related to the formative process.

Paulo Gomes, co-director of the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy, highlighted that the partnership materializes Sporting's commitment to improving working conditions and infrastructure in Madeira. "We will now provide very good conditions for young people who wish to represent the Sporting Academy in Madeira, ensuring they have the necessary tools to dignify the club in the best way," he stated.

Duarte Luciano, president of CD 1.º de Maio, considered the link to a world-renowned academy a crucial step for the growth of the Madeiran club, which is already established as a benchmark in local youth development. "The know-how that the Sporting Academy can transmit to us will be a very important factor for us to continue growing," he said.
