Temperatures on the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) have surpassed 30 degrees Celsius in multiple locations, according to IPMA data. Santo da Serra recorded the highest temperature at 32.1°C.
Prazeres and Pico Alto also experienced high temperatures, reaching 31.2°C and 30.2°C respectively. Other areas like Pico do Areeiro and Santa Catarina/Aeroporto registered highs of 29.2°C and 28.3°C. In Funchal, temperatures at the Observatory were 28.3°C and at Lido were 25.7°C.
Authorities are advising the public to take precautionary measures, such as avoiding prolonged sun exposure and increasing hydration, particularly for vulnerable groups, due to the intense heat.
