Three young women aged 17 to 18 were treated at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital after allegedly ingesting drinks with an unknown substance added.

Three young women, aged between 17 and 18, were assisted in the early hours of Tuesday at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital in Funchal.

The incident occurred between 2:00 am and 3:00 am on Rua das Fontes, where the women allegedly consumed drinks to which a substance had been added without their knowledge. Symptoms included intense sleepiness, feeling faint, and momentary loss of consciousness, consistent with sedative ingestion.

The Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters and the Portuguese Red Cross were mobilized. The Public Security Police (PSP) attended the scene and are currently investigating the situation.
