An inspection this morning of a building in Funchal's Old Town, which suffered a major fire overnight, has determined that part of its tower needs to be demolished in a controlled manner.
The operation awaits the arrival of a truck to commence work, which is expected to begin shortly. The fire broke out on Friday night, involving 42 operatives and 16 vehicles. Eight people were rehoused, and two sustained minor injuries.
