The Portuguese Navy's training ship Sagres will soon visit the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The vessel began its Adaptation Voyage on September 11th, carrying 102 candidates for the Naval School.
During its stay, the Sagres will anchor in Porto Santo bay and dock at Pier 2 of Funchal Port from September 15th to 16th. On the 15th, the ship will be open for visits between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Previously, from April to August, the ship undertook a four-month journey to North American ports, Bermuda, and the Azores, representing Portugal at Sail250, an event commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States' Independence. During this mission, barrels and bottles of Madeira Wine were carried, recreating the historic toast to American independence.
