A TUI Fly flight from Madeira to Frankfurt, Germany, had its journey aborted this afternoon, just minutes after departing.
The aircraft, which took off at 5:55 PM, had to return to its origin due to an incident known in aviation as a bird strike, reportedly caused by a bird entering one of the plane's engines. The plane landed safely back at Santa Catarina Airport at 6:36 PM.
This incident follows another bird strike reported yesterday morning involving a Ryanair plane during its takeoff.
