UCAD raises student awareness on alcohol and drug risks at Academic Festival

UCAD participated in the University of Madeira's Academic Festival to warn students about the dangers of substance use.

The Operational Unit for Intervention in Addictive Behaviors and Dependencies (UCAD), part of the Regional Health Directorate, was present at the University of Madeira's (UMa) Academic Festival on October 3, 2026.

The project "#Vibes 4U NoDrugs" was developed by the UCAD team and volunteers from UMa and the Nursing School of São José de Cluny. The aim was to raise awareness among festival-goers about the risks associated with excessive consumption of alcohol and other psychoactive substances.

The initiative included collaboration with the Public Security Police (PSP), which conducted alcohol breathalyzer tests on participants.
