Union Demands New Single Agent Supplement for Horários do Funchal Workers

The Union of Road Transport and Metallurgical Activities Workers of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (STRAMM) has begun proceedings with the management of Horários do Funchal to implement Law No. 46/2026, dated August 17. This law established a new supplementary remuneration for workers performing single agent duties in public transport.

The new legislation stipulates that the single agent supplement amounts to 25% of the monthly base salary, paid 14 times a year. STRAMM views this change as a fair recognition of the increased responsibilities of drivers who, in addition to driving, handle passenger services, ticketing, and cash management.

The union emphasizes that this claim is being pursued through institutional dialogue and cooperation, aiming to ensure the new national legislation translates into effective professional appreciation. STRAMM deems it important to analyze this matter promptly, considering the preparation of the 2027 Regional Budget and the need to secure the necessary financial conditions for the new scheme's implementation.
