The University of Madeira (UMa) will welcome approximately 550 new students this Friday, September 11th, with an orientation session at the Penteada University Campus. The event is for students admitted in the first phase of the National Higher Education Access Competition, as well as international students arriving through programs like Erasmus+.
The initiative, starting at 2 PM, will feature the presence of rector Sílvio Moreira Fernandes and aims to offer new students an initial close contact with the university's courses, faculty, facilities, and support structures. UMa frames this event within its student support strategy, focusing on integration, academic success, well-being, and participation in university life.
Throughout the afternoon, new students can meet course directors, tour the campus facilities, and learn about academic support, social action, and mobility services. The session will conclude with a social gathering and entertainment from 4 PM, designed to foster initial connections among peers, professors, and the wider academic community.
