The solemn session for Ponta do Sol Municipality Day marks the 525th anniversary of the municipality with a decentralized ceremony, which this year will be held at the Campo Municipal dos Canhas.
This initiative begins a new celebration model that will tour the municipality's three parishes throughout the current term. Municipal President Rui Marques explained the goal is to bring the commemoration closer to the population and make it truly municipal.
The Canhas host the first session of this new cycle, followed by the parishes of Ponta do Sol and Madalena do Mar in the next two years. Rui Marques emphasized the importance of cooperation between the municipality and civil society for the development of the county, advocating for collective work among the public, private sectors, and various local institutions.
