Winning Short Story of Horácio Bento de Gouveia Prize Presented in Boaventura

The short story "O Último Caderno de Horácio", winner of the Horácio Bento de Gouveia Literary Prize, will be launched on August 26th.

The São Vicente Municipal Chamber will present the winning short story of the 2025 edition of the Horácio Bento de Gouveia Literary Prize on August 26th, at 4:00 PM, at Miradouro das Serras, in the parish of Boaventura.

Entitled "O Último Caderno de Horácio" (Horácio's Last Notebook), the story is by Sandra de Gouveia Mendonça, who chose Lombo do Urzal as the setting for her narrative, with Horácio Barbuzano as the protagonist. The choice of location for the public presentation aims to bring the reader closer to the landscape that inspired the work.

The Horácio Bento de Gouveia Literary Prize, established by the Municipality of São Vicente, aims to preserve the legacy of Horácio Bento de Gouveia and promote literary creation. The launch of the short story is part of the São Vicente Municipal Festivals 2026 program.
