Young violinist Jesus Madrid, a student at the Conservatory – School of Arts of Madeira, performed as a soloist at the opening concert of CONVIMUS – International Music Festival, held in Porto on July 5th. Accompanied by the AMASING Symphony Orchestra, his participation followed his victory in the 1st prize of the CONVIMUS National Young Violinist Competition.

Madrid won Category 1 – High Difficulty, one of the most technically demanding categories. His preparation for this performance was closely guided by his professor, Norberto Gomes, who attended rehearsals and the concert. The award included a monetary prize, alongside artistic recognition and the opportunity to perform at the festival.

Born in Venezuela in 2008, Jesus Madrid began his musical studies in 2013. In 2023, he enrolled in the Professional Instrumentalist Course at the Madeira Conservatory, where he is currently a final-year student. His career includes participation in various youth orchestras and masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians.
